Rescheduling Rule Change

For the past couple of months, APA has been following a proposed rule from the State Board of Health related to rescheduling some controlled substances. APA joined the State Board of Pharmacy in filing written comments voicing concerns over the rule.

The Board of Health met on March 15 and voted unanimously to move forward with this action in spite of pharmacy's concerns. Specifically, the rule change will move Alprazolam to a Schedule II and other benzodiazepines from a IV to a III.

APA has filed for a hearing before the Legislative Council in the hopes of having this stopped before it takes effect. We need your help.

If you disagree with these changes, you must speak up NOW! Please contact the members of the council and let them know. There are talking points if needed.

APA is working hard for you on this issue but it is critical that you make your concerns known!!

Thank you for being a voice for pharmacy!
