The National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases – Influenza Coordination Unit has partnered with the HealthMap team at Boston Children’s Hospital over the last few years to help improve access to vaccines and influenza antiviral drugs through the online tools VaccineFinder and MedFinder. Those groups have reached out to pharmacy organizations to share progress made with VaccineFinder and MedFInder, and to make it easy for pharmacies to participate:

  • VaccineFinder and MedFinder now offer flexible methods for pharmacies to update their vaccine and antiviral drug supply through both automated and manual reporting options.
  • The VaccineFinder website and platform have been updated. Participating pharmacies can now update supply estimates for routine adult and child vaccines, and any travel vaccines that they carry.

Having timely and accurate information available in these applications will be especially important this influenza season, and pharmacies need to be well represented so that patients can find them to receive their flu vaccine or fill their antiviral drug prescription.

The two provider factsheets (VaccineFinder Provider Factsheet and MedFinder Pharmacy Factsheet) share details on how the systems work and how to enroll. The VaccineFinder team will also host a information and training webinar for interested and participating providers on September 16, 2020, 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. CDT. Pharmacies can register below, and email with any questions.

September 16, 2020
