OCTOBER is American (and Alabama) Pharmacists Month

Our Members Improve Health and Increase Access

October is time to recognize pharmacists’ contributions to health care and all they do for their communities. APA, together with APhA, is getting excited to lead Alabama’s pharmacists, student pharmacists, technicians, educators, and industry partners in informing patients and caregivers of how pharmacists’ expertise can positively impact the lives of patients.

APhA has a national campaign for the 2023 observation, along with a website with easy-to-access dowloads for your social media channels—compliments of APhA. The campaign focuses on the role of pharmacy in improving health and increasing access. Social media files and messaging are available to share on your own social channels.

This year’s theme is Your Pharmacists: Improving Health. Increasing Access. You can access the website and the toolkit at www.pharmacistsmonth.com. APhA and APA want to help you promote your profession and get the attention you deserve among your peers, patients and community this October during American Pharmacists Month.

Tuesday, October 15, 2024 is National Pharmacy Technician Day!

Technicians, here are some things you can do to promote your profession:

Get Social: Talk about your role as a Technician on your pharmacy team, and remember to tag your social media posts with #RxTechDay.

Download Graphics and Badges to Share: Graphics are available for your social media and website, and badges/stickers for your pharmacy team to wear.

Join Associations: Urge your pharmacy to purchase memberships in national and state pharmacy associations for technicians this month.

Alabama Pharmacists' Month and Alabama Pharmacy Technicians' Day Proclamations

Since 2011, in recognition of American Pharmacists' Month, APA has annually requested that the Governor proclaim the month of October as Alabama Pharmacists' Month and the third Tuesday in October as Alabama Pharmacy Technicians' Day.
